Urban Identities

Different City Narrative

body and city mapping route

What it is

A site-specific and itinerant route in the urban territory that is created in real time together with the participants through the sharing of body and movement practices and the collection of sound, visual, photographic and dramaturgical traces.

How it works

The route proposes a mapping of the territory starting from oneself and one’s own urban reference space, zone or neighbourhood, with simple technical tools such as notebook, PC, camera, voice recorder.

Artistic research

Constructing an itinerary in the urban space of one’s own city, neighbourhood or area in which each participant will be an active part of the process, starting from the resources and creative capacities of each in relation to the group and the surrounding environment. Creating together, through the medium of artistic and performative language, an urban and poetic map of the territory to which we belong, where we can rewrite and re-invent the ‘space-time’ of our everyday life in which we recognise ourselves and belong as unique and unavoidable elements of a larger system.

Adults / Teen – Senior

‘Telling to tell’: knowing and telling the identity of a place to know ourselves more deeply.

1) Re-activating and focusing participants’ attention on the relationship and interaction between their inner and outer landscape

2) To develop bodily and creative resources individually and in groups

3) To create a shared and recognisable map of the path traversed
